The Research in Industrial Projects for Students (RIPS) 2025 program offers talented undergraduate students a valuable opportunity to work on real-world research projects. Taking place from June 23 to August 22, 2025, in Los Angeles, the program is hosted by the Institute for Pure and Applied Mathematics (IPAM) at UCLA. What is RIPS?
Students can work in small groups on industry-sponsored research projects through the competitive RIPS program. To make sure students get the most out of their experience, each team is assisted by both an industry mentor and an academic mentor. They showcase their work during midterm and final presentations, culminating in a visit to their sponsor’s facilities on “Projects Day.”

Students that are chosen might have to apply for either OPT (Optional Practical Training) or CPT (Curricular Practical Training).
