International students can apply for the Enterprise Fellowships to study for a doctorate at the Royal Academy of Engineering in the United Kingdom. This programme supports entrepreneurial engineers who are innovative and creative and who have demonstrated a remarkable engineering uniqueness that they wish to further develop.

The programme places a strong emphasis on equipping the winner with the knowledge, expertise, self-assurance, and network of knowledgeable advisors needed to further their idea. Enterprise Fellowships are available to three different kinds of people: researchers looking to spin out a business from a university or research facility; recent graduates hoping to start a firm; and international PhD students located in the UK hoping to start up or spin out.

Eligibility Criteria for Royal Academy of Engineering Enterprise Fellowships

To be eligible for Enterprise Fellowships – Royal Academy of Engineering, the following criteria are to be fulfilled:

  • Required Language: English.
  • Eligible Countries: All World Countries.

Broadly speaking, we support:

  • Researchers wishing to spinout a company from a university
  • Recent graduates seeking to found a startup
  • International PhD students (already based in the UK) wanting to spinout or startup

You meet our key eligibility criteria if:

  • The Technology Readiness Level (TRL) of your solution is 4 or above
  • Equity investment in your business is less than 500,000 GBP
  • Your innovation is protectable, and you own or co-own the IP
  • Within the founding team, you own the highest equity stake in the company
  • You are, or have the ambition to be, the CEO or COO of the business
  • For startups: you are not a student or otherwise employed during our programme
  • In addition, for startups: you mostly 2018
  • For spinouts: you are currently employed by the university
  • If relevant, your PhD viva will be held no later than 30 November 30, 2023

How to Apply for Enterprise Fellowships at the Royal Academy of Engineering?

Please visit official website link given at the end. Here are some necessary steps to avail Enterprise Fellowships at the Royal Academy of Engineering:

  • Applicants must first register with the system from here.
  • Once logged in, select My Applications in the top left corner, and choose an application form the list of currently open programs.

The application process has two stages:

Stage one

You provide us a quick introduction to yourself and your proposal in Stage One. It will take around sixty minutes to finish. We will encourage you to submit a stage two application if you meet the requirements for the programme, your idea fits the kind of help we provide, and you are a good fit. In the first stage, the idea’s suitability for the program’s requirements and objectives is the main consideration, rather than its quality.

Stage two

The second stage application is longer and will evaluate the idea’s quality as well as your ability to run a startup. It will take you one to three working days to provide the further details about the team, the technology, the business model, and yourself. A panel of specialists will assess this section of the application, and if your application is accepted, you will be invited for an interview.

Please be aware that until the selection process is finished, we will not be able to send you the Panel’s comments on your Stage 2 application because of the high amount of applications.
